Alam Sari, in Indonesian means natural essence. It is here that you can experience the life of Bali through its people and the natural tropical beauty. Set in the cool, green hills north of Ubud, wake to the sight of Mount Agung, Bali’s sacred mountain, and the magnificent views that the hilltop setting provides.

The gracious Balinese staff, proud of their origins in the neighboring villages, are attentive and dedicated to making your stay a memorable one.

Restaurant

Our open air restaurant serves a select range of Balinese, Asian and international cuisine made from a variety of fresh, local and home grown vegetables and fruits, as well as some imported ingredients such as meats, cheese and imported goods. We serve an attractive range of gluten free and vegetarian options. No MSG or other artificial food additives are used in our kitchen. By using only fresh and high quality ingredients and maintaining a high standard of hygiene in preparing, cooking and serving our food, guests are guaranteed interesting yet nutritious and safe food at Alam Sari.

Our bar serves a wide range of fresh tropical fruit juices, lassis, smoothies, beer, and locally produced wine.

Facilities

Alam Sari hotel has a large, natural stone swimming pool which is an outstanding feature of the hotel. It is a wonderful way to relax at the end of a day’s tour, or a hard day’s shopping. The water is warm and inviting, and pool toys are provided for the children. Parents are required to supervise their children at all times.

Spa

Spa Alam Sari combines traditional Balinese beauty treatments with the highest standards of hygiene and Balinese hospitality.

A spa experience at Alam Sari is designed to calm, relax and rejuvenate your body and mind in a beautiful and peaceful setting. It is based on the philosophy of the Balinese that the inner and outer harmony of a person must be balanced for good health. Spa Alam Sari seeks to demonstrate these principles in the treatments we offer.

Organic Garden

We have an organically friendly kitchen garden, free of pesticides, where we grow coffee, cacao, vanilla as well as renowned Indonesian spices such as cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and lemongrass. We use these flavours in our cooking, baking and drinks fresh from the garden.

The garden is part of our complimentary village tour and can be visited at any time to see how the local fruits and vegetables grow and how Alam Sari embodies a farm to table attitude in our use of fresh produce in our restaurant.

Our Neighbouring Village of Keliki

Alam Sari brings all our guests a window into life in a traditional Balinese village, which is played out everyday based on thousand year old traditions and ceremonies. Often confined to coastal resorts, many visitors to Bali miss out on seeing this world. Alam Sari seeks to change that. Through a mix of activities and experiences focusing on local arts & culture, sustainable living practices and spiritual wellbeing, Alam Sari will share some unique insights into the Island of the Gods.

Famous for its specialization in miniature paintings, Keliki village and its artisans are one of the hidden gems of the island and famous to those in the know both locally and abroad.

Family & Kids Activities

Families can join visit Keliki artists at work, and take part in a painting session with a Balinese artist. There are fun activities in the village, such as our famous “From Cocoa Bean to Chocolate” workshop for kids. You can also learn to make a simple Balinese offering from palm leaves. We also arrange many other exciting activities to engage families in the life and culture of Bali- workshops with Balinese dance, gamelan, painting, the crafts of batik, silver, ceramics, masks, puppets, basketry, woodcarving and many more.

Children can join staff in our kitchen garden, and learn about the local produce, herbs and spices famous on Bali, as well as help plant seedlings.
